Beading

Anyone can do beading. It’s brilliant for kids to work on their fine motor skills and manual dexterity, its great for adults to use as a way to relax and wind down after a busy day and more than that it’s fun! Whether you are stringing a simple bead necklace of creating a three-dimensional dragon that stands up by itself (see my dragon picture above!) beading is all-absorbing and very rewarding!

There’s a wealth of online suppliers of beads and beading tools and it’s a hobby you can dabble with on the odd occasion or take it right up to a high level. Perfect for a rainy day.

I’ve put some of the things I’ve made on this site with the hope that it will inspire some of you to try new things. It took off as a hobby for me when I watched a mum showing some Scouts how to make little beaded parrots and aliens with tiny seed beads on wire – and I haven’t looked back! This last Christmas I’ve made beaded presents for lots of people and I’ve added some of my beaded creations to my shop Millefiori Moments.  I have had orders from customers requesting beaded jewellery for their friends and have been able to match the styles and beads used to their personalities. It’s been fantastic! My beads spill out everywhere – whenever I make a natural remedy for someone I add a little beaded charm onto the jar to make it extra special! You really can’t beat a bit of beading.

Enjoy!
